A Thursday night trip to GB
Simon Moth, Steve Sharp
We parked up at Charterhouse Farm and made our way over the gruffy ground to the cave, the sun was setting in the distance and a deer was darting around.
We decided to do the round trip via the Devil’s Elbow route, this is an interesting excursion up the fixed ladder, a rope is required. The Devil’s Elbow is wet and twisting in places and apparently impassable in wet weather.
We arrived at the main chamber and admired the view and made our way along White Passage to the end of the lower cave, the stream now sinks slightly upstream of its original position, the downstream end seems to be slightly opening back up
A few photo’s and we made our way back out up the waterfall and back through the normal entrance passage.
The Bridge
We retired to the Burrington Inn for a drink to reflect on the trip.
